It feels like ages since we last came across new material by Polish-born and UK-based NFOP favorite Ela Orleans, whose wonderful Mars Is Heaven LP made 2011 so much better. Good news then that the lady is back with more of the modest and tender, slightly eerie chamber pop that has become her signature in the past year. High Moon Low Sun is the name of Orleans' new eleven-song collection, an effort that easily lives up to her past output.
Below, watch the video for "Elegy", a gently shuffling piece of sad-eyed cabaret based on lyrics by Sara Ellen Lessard, an appropriately subdued and melancholic collage assembled and arranged by Nattymari.

Shortly after we introduced you to the Reykjavik based producer Russell Harmon, our friends behind Ghosting Season, whom also happens to be the discoverers of Russell Harmon in the first place, promised us that a remix of one of their tracks was soon about to find its way to our inbox. It happened to take a bit more time than predicted, but didn't particularly surprise me in the first place. Harmon apparently has a tendency to be quite the perfectionist, at the same time as trying to live up to the works to another Iceland resident, obviously the one and only Ben Frost.
And of course is Ben Frost one of the first names that will come to mind when listening to Harmon's slow drenching, but beautifully static compositions, however more stripped-down in sound and less organic than the ambient-leaning works of Frost himself. Even though Harmon's remix of Ghosting Season's "Time Without Question" has a clean; almost strict structure, the atmosphere from the original still remains, and gives us yet another reason to be very excited about the future of this dude, similar to Ben Frost or not.
We previously stated that his EP was supposed to come out in mid-March (something that obviously never really happened), so for now I guess all we can do is to sit still and patiently wait for Russell Harmon to feel satisfied about his pieces, satisfied enough to make an EP/album out of them. Something he really should be, by all means.

"River" has a doom-drenched, mysterious feel, however breaking into landscapes of shoegaze throughout its lush nine minutes and fifty-three seconds, making your consciousness want to float silently over stormy shorelines, watching the landscape unfold beneath your feet.

And indeed this is some excellent and very promising stuff here, definitely something a lot more people should be aware of. "Midnight" is a subtly seducing piece of lo-fi synth pop, very classy, or in Adam's words (I've tried to come up with something myself but this is just too good), "like a post-Apocalyptic James Bond film theme, from a future world where economic crises have lead to the deaths of half the world population and no one can afford anything but a casio and a pair of dusty velvet curtains and a cocktail glass but they're still dismally trying to make James Bond films. Or something." Exactly.
No doubt an artist to keep an eye on. You may listen to more of her material and download it for free over here.

In anticipation to his US tour starting today in Denver, our Irish friend Jack Colleran better known as MMOTHS just released this brand new joint a few hours ago, and we can obviously hear why producers such as Jamie XX and Star Slinger are excited about him. We've already heard both songs of their forthcoming 7 inch, "Green Sea" and "Born", a while back, and yesterday the folks unveiled the appropriately foggy (and melancholic!) video for the A-side.
